When rulers try to rule without “the fear of God” (Exodus 18:21), they miss the very foundation of success.  The worldview that denies the existence of God, as well as His right to rule us and our institutions can end only in confusion and death to liberty.  That’s why in recent programs we’ve been sharing the Biblical foundations for ourselves and our nation from the book Why God Birthed America.  We continue with the story of Jesus’ Resurrection:

It's Enough 1“What Mary didn’t see in that Garden was the host of others who were there.  The many believers from the past who were standing around Jesus, waiting for the most triumphant entry ever staged.  They were the ‘spirits of just men made perfect.’ (Hebrews 12:22-23)  Abel, Noah, Moses, David, Daniel and many, many others.  They did not yet have their new bodies, like the one Jesus had.  But they knew His was the certain promise that theirs would one day come. (Ephesians 1:14)

“He was leading them from Paradise (the place where they had been at rest ever since their death) into heaven.  The Father in heaven had ever wanted them with Him, but something had to happen first.  Since all the spirit realm operates Continue reading

Jesus had been dead three days.  Some of the women who had followed Him came to His tomb early and had found the stone door rolled away and His body gone!  They had told His disciples, and Peter and John had come to the grave site and seen for themselves that His body was gone.  But now the others had left and only Mary Magdalene remained.  It is here we pick up the story from the book, Why God Birthed America

1Alive--Part 3“Mary did not want to leave.  She stood there a few steps from the entrance to the grave, trying to sort out all that had happened.  The angels had said He was alive.  Jesus Himself had told them He would come back to life.  But could that really be?  She moved closer to the entrance.  Questions were flying through her mind.  Could He really be alive again?

She didn’t know how long she stood there lost in thought.  But as she put her head on the doorway and wept, she was instantly blinded with light!  There they were again!  The two shining creatures she and the other women had seen earlier!  They looked at her with compassion.

‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ they asked.

‘Because they’ve taken away my Lord and I don’t know where they’ve put Him,’ she wailed.  She turned her head away, having no stamina which could Continue reading

It has been said of Patrick, the great missionary to Ireland during the 400s, he “found Patrick's Breastplate1Ireland all heathen and left it all Christian”.  And while, no doubt, that statement is not completely true, it, no doubt, has much truth in it because Patrick was used of God powerfully in converting the Irish to Christ and helping them structure their government so that it would protect for centuries the right to share the Gospel of Christ with the next generation.  Patrick’s understanding and submission to God brought tremendous power from the Holy Spirit to his life.  You hear his understanding of God and this world God created and controls in what is known as Patrick’s Breastplate.  Hear the power of God in it!  He states:

“I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through the belief in the threeness,
Through the confession of the oneness
Of the Creator of Creation

“I arise today
Through the strength of Christ’s birth with his baptism,
Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,
Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,
Through the strength of his descent for the Judgment Day. Continue reading

It is such an amazing story!  Patrick, a young, former slave in Ireland, was called by God in the 400’s to go share the Gospel of Christ with those same Irish people who Patrick of Ireland1had enslaved him just a few years before!  Yet, without fear, he boldly entered again into that realm and became the agent of liberty to those who had once been his agents of slavery.

He developed this boldness because Christ had revealed Himself to him in such a living way.  Patrick’s faith in Jesus was no cold orthodoxy; his was a living relationship with the living, resurrected Son of God!  In Patrick’s life, Jesus was Lord!  We get a glimpse of the intimacy between him and his Lord when he writes of hearing His voice.  With great humility he simply states that God said to him:

“He who gave His life for you, He it is who speaks within you.”

(Great Christian Classics, Kevin Swanson ed.; Generations With Vision, pub. 2010; p. 140)

His knowledge of Christ was deeper than most of us today.  He understood that Jesus dwelt inside him.  He knew Christ, not only as the Continue reading

We are hearing a lot about what is termed, “Transgenderism” these days.  Some say it’s an option.  Some say it’s a choice.  Some say it’s a right.  The Bible teaches it is sin!!  Most who promote the idea of “transgenderism” are also the people who push the murder of a child in the womb as being a “choice”—choice of death for the baby!  Isn’t it interesting how satan loves to give sins a more acceptable name so that they will be more readily accepted by the masses.  Let’s consider why what is called “transgenderism” is sin.

There is No Trans1For starters, it is not logical:  Not in origin, not in practice.  No matter what kind of surgery you have on the body, you cannot change the genes.  We are internally what God made us to be, either a male or a female.  This cannot be changed.  Change on the outside does not change what is inside, in the genes or internal organs.  Neither can we change the way we go about doing things.  All established order in this earth recognizes a male “approach” to things and a female “approach” to things.  Thus, you can be a “transvestite” (meaning you can dress like the opposite sex) but you cannot be “transgendered”.

But more importantly, a so called “gender change” directly attacks Continue reading

The message of judgment for sins has always been unpopular with those who want to run their own lives.  It still is.  But the fact remains:  No matter how much we try to put off or forget judgment, it will still occur, right on schedule—both in this world and the next. Judgment for rebellion is no pleasant thought when the Judge is a just God who keeps a very detailed, specific record of every thought and every action we’ve ever known.  The prophet Amos warned the northern kingdom of Israel that impending doom was near.  He had cried out,

Amos' Call to Repentance1“Woe to them that are at ease in Zion…that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock…That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of music…That drink wine in bowls, and…are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive…The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself…therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein…For, behold, the LORD …will smite the great house with breaches…for ye have turned judgment into gall…behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you…”

(Amos 6: 1-14)

But Israel scoffed at Amos’ words.  In spite of increasing disease and frightful storms, the nation still didn’t really think these were “the beginning of sorrows”.  They thought “somebody will get a handle on this economy…someone will come up with a cure for this rampant disease.”  (Sounds like our sexually transmitted diseases, like AIDS, doesn’t it?)  “After all,” they said Continue reading

Is Jesus Christ really alive from the dead?  If He is, that means He really is Who He claimed to be—the Lord of heaven and earth.  That would mean He has the right to rule the lives that have your name and my name attached to them.  Consider His story…

1Alive--Part2The women filed into the tomb one by one.  They stood there absolutely amazed, questions flying through their heads.  All of a sudden the tomb was filled with brilliant radiance.  Another being—no, two of them—were sitting on the stone bed:  One where Jesus’ head had been, the other at the feet.   These creatures were so majestic the women fell on their faces before them.  As they bowed low, the women heard them say, “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?  He is not here; He is risen.  Remember how He spoke to you while in Galilee, telling you He would be killed by sinners, but on the third day would rise again.” (From Luke 24:5-7)  The light they were bowing in seemed to sink into their souls.  They remembered!  Now it began to make sense.  He had told them this.  He had said it was all part of the Father’s plan.  He must die, but He would come back to life again…after three days!  One of the angels interrupted their thoughts by issuing a command:  “Go, tell His disciples—and Peter!” (From Mark 16:7)  While the words were not harsh, they were authoritative.  Mary obeyed.  She got up and, shielding her eyes from the brightness, she stumbled out of the tomb and then began Continue reading

Courts Usurp Power to Cancel Trump's Order1Enter once again the tyranny of the national courts.  National courts (sometimes referred to as Federal Courts) partially blocked President Trump’s executive order to slow down the flow of immigrants.  The President’s position is that he is trying to protect us from terrorist attacks.  The Courts say that he is trampling on the rights of immigrants.  Thus, we have our first “face-off” between the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch in the new Administration in Washington.  So who is right?

Bryan Fischer, one of my favorite policy analysts, has summed up the issue very well.  He states,

“Article I, Section 9 gives to Congress unilateral, unquestioned, unchallengeable authority to admit to our shores only those it ‘shall think proper to admit.’  If Congress doesn’t think they should come in, they don’t get to come in, regardless of what unelected oligarchs think about the matter.” (in other words, the judges) Continue reading

The media is in an uproar over President Trump’s Executive Order concerning immigration.  Not that the media being in an uproar against what is right is anything new, but many are questioning if what he has done in greatly slowing down the immigration rate is right.  Did the President move too quickly in giving this order?  In my opinion, given the “deep bleed” in the body of the American state, we can’t fault him much in this.

Trump's Immigration Fix1Because a nation can only be as strong as it is within its own borders, you cannot help other nations in the world until you are strong at home.  Those who expect America to take care of the world either are uninformed as to how God teaches us to help others or they reject the Bible as their standard for such benevolence.  Just as the Bible says that “Jesus began to do and teach”, so we cannot share with the world what we are not.  “Doing” always precedes “teaching”.  A tree can’t extend its branches any farther than its root system equals under the ground or the whole tree will topple.  American strength has been flowing away for years (and especially in the last 8 years) because we have tried to join the world “globalism” movement and compromised so many of our historic convictions in order to be “part of the crowd”.  All the President has done is to stop the bleeding so we can get into a position of strength once again and lead from the front!

So what does the Bible say about immigration?  Since it has something to say about Continue reading

David Barton, President of Wallbuilders, shares with us the reason for the protestors being at the Presidential Inauguration.  The Bible teaches that satan blinds “…the minds of them that believe not.”  (2 Corinthians 4:4)   The protestors at the inauguration are sad examples of this.  But we must know why they think like they do or we will allow our liberty to be destroyed by them!  I’m quoting extensively from Mr. Barton.  He writes:

Inauguration Protestors1“The inauguration of Donald Trump was remarkable in…that six different individuals offered prayers, with four of those prayers ending in Jesus’ name…

“Another unique feature of his inauguration was the large number of protestors present. Most were [from 20-36 years old], and [many] were still protesting the general election results…a common protest sign was ‘Trump is not my president’.  But that statement says more about our education system than it does about those who held the signs. It affirms the failure of American education in four areas:  American history, government, Constitution, and truth.

“First, the sign was intended to express their outrage over the fact that Hillary won the popular vote…but lost the presidency—an outcome they believed was unprecedented in the history of American elections.  Only it wasn’t.  The identical thing has happened in several other presidential elections.  Shame on schools for not teaching basic American history, and why such outcomes occur. Continue reading
