After Jesus was raised from the dead, the Bible records that,
“…He showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1:3, emphasis added)
The fact that Jesus talked with His followers concerning the “kingdom of God” means (among other things) that He was revealing to them the warfare between the two kingdoms in this world: That God is the rightful owner of this earth, and thus, the rightful ruler of this earth. But there is one who has set himself against that Kingdom belonging to God, and tried to usurp its power. That one is satan, called in the Bible, the adversary of God. Thus, Jesus was equipping His followers with the understanding that we walk in a constant warfare in this earth. This warfare engulfs everything in this world from: Whether a person will come to Christ by surrendering his will and receiving Him as Master; to whether God or satan will control civil government—the greatest natural power on earth.
