We’re hearing a lot about what happened in our voting surrounding this past election.  That is, you’re hearing a lot about it if you’re listening to a true news source, like Newsmax.com!

Actually, this whole discussion centers in identifying and defining what kind of government America has.  The socialists want us to think we’re a democracy.  The media wants us to think we’re a democracy.  Almost every one of the universities teach that we are a democracy.  But the Founders who FIRST CREATED this government said something different; they called us a REPUBLIC.  James Madison, who wrote the Constitution, said in His first Inaugural address as President, that he would need:

“…the guardianship and guidance of that Almighty Being whose power regulates the destiny of nations, whose blessings have been so conspicuously dispensed to this rising Republic…”

I know several churches which start their Sunday meetings with Prayer, and then Continue reading

If you were satan, and you saw a large part of your kingdom coming down, wouldn’t you resolve to call out all your forces and concentrate them on that particular group which was working to advance God’s kingdom?  That’s what I believe he did about this time 400 years ago.  A little band of Englishmen had so discovered what it meant to know Jesus Christ, and to walk with Him in this present world, that they were satan’s “greatest nightmare”.  They weren’t wealthy or, for the most part, very well educated by the world’s standard.  But God had given them pure hearts; hearts in which, by the cleansing of the blood of Christ, He himself had come to dwell.  Christ had found a welcome will in those hearts; a will through which He could release His own will, and accomplish His purpose of getting out the message of what He’d done by His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and the outpouring of His Holy Spirit into men on this earth.  Christ could feel at home among them because their agreement (or covenant as the Bible calls it) with God had caused them to enter an agreement with each other to:

“…walk together in all His ways, made known, or to be made known, whatsoever it should cost them, the Lord assisting them.”

It was this covenant with God and one another that would Continue reading

Love Your Enemies- But STAND Against Them- 1Celebrate a Veteran this week!

On October 8th, 1918, an Army corporal from the mountains of Tennessee did an amazing thing while fighting in World War I.  Alvin York, a shy young man, who didn’t even want to go to war, performed so well in the line of duty he would later be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.  York, who had been converted to Christ after being known as a “hell-raiser”, struggled with going to war because Jesus had taught that we should be peacemakers.  However, he finally reasoned from the Bible that, as he would say,

“If a man can make peace by fighting, then he is a peacemaker.”

His patrol was moving behind German lines who were ‘dug in’ within deep trenches.  The Germans discovered York and his troop, and opened fire.  The American patrol was pinned down and York would later report that the bushes all around him were shot to pieces, yet he was miraculously spared.  At great risk to his life he worked his way around the hillside where he could see the Germans entrenched above his men.  With his Tennessee sharp-shooting skills he began to pick off the German soldiers one at a time, until he had single-handedly killed twenty-five of them; and silenced thirty-five machine guns!  He then Continue reading
