Whenever I’ve been in New England studying America’s history, I’ve always been awe-struck by the many monuments and markers in that region which told of our past. Our beginnings there speak to us in a great way concerning our Biblical roots. Everywhere I turned there were references to the work of Jesus Christ in the lives of our ancestors. Why did our forefathers place these monuments there? Why are their words so specific in their instruction to us?

For example, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the Pilgrims first landed, there is a large stone placed over the spot where they buried half their number that first winter. On the back of that stone are printed some words we definitely need to know. They Continue reading

John Dewey—the father of the present educational system in America—stated in his book, Living Philosophies (1930),

“There is no God, there is no soul. Hence there are no needs for…traditional religion…truth is dead…There is no room for fixed natural law or permanent moral absolutes.”

(Biblical Solutions to Contemporary Problems, R. Walton, p. 136)

With such ideas being the foundation of modern education, is it any wonder “Johnny can’t read”; and drugs, immorality, and suicide are epidemics in America’s public schools? In spite of the effort of many Christians who teach in our local schools, the devastation worsens each year. Is there any hope for public education in America? Yes! “Property Rights: Worth Dying For!”

Property Rights- Worth Dying For 1Sam Adams, the man most responsible for the Declaration of Independence, pointed out the importance of defending our God-given rights when he stated,

“Among the natural rights of the Colonists are these: First, a right to life; Secondly, to liberty; Thirdly, to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can…The supreme power cannot justly take from any man any part of his property, without his consent in person or by his representative.”

Let’s look carefully at one of these liberties the King had stolen and consider what’s happening to us today.  Let’s look at what they called ‘property rights’.

The right to own property you’re willing to work for is God-given, not government-granted.  Therefore it is a stewardship from God that He expects us to protect and pass on to our children.  No one has a right to take your property without you agreeing to it.  But let’s consider one of the sneaky ways your property is being stolen from you.
