Once again, mass shootings have brought on the call for more gun control; as if the gun was inherently evil.  By the way, wonder why we don’t hear from the media the many, well-documented, instances where a gun was used to stop an attacker?  Anyway, this time the solution put forth are the so-called, “Red Flag” laws.  These laws would supposedly identify a mentally unbalanced person before they committed the hideous act of a mass shooting.  It sounds good.  But like so many other idealistic ideas put forth by the socialists, it simply cannot work in a fallen world.  Man’s selfish nature, what the Bible calls sin, just won’t—indeed it cannot—work perfect solutions to problems.

Questions like, who is going to determine just who is mentally unbalanced?  What process will be used to separate him from his gun?  What treatment will be applied to cure him of his insanity?  These are just a few of the unanswered questions swirling around this emotional search for how to stop mass shootings.

But let’s look beneath the emotional surface at WHY these “Red Flag” laws are being proposed.  The truth is, in the natural realm, Red Flag laws would be a great tool aiding the socialists in overthrowing our Republic.  But in the spirit realm, they are satan’s tool for destroying the church by locking away church leaders by accusing them of insanity.  Thus, satan’s constant effort to keep the Gospel from flowing to the next generation would be helped immensely.

Mass shootings seem to be escalating.  And while the political pundits always try to pin the blame on their political enemies, the truth is the numbers of shootings have been increasing no matter which political party is in power.  The news media, psychiatrists, and talk show hosts, have tried to answer the question, “Why do tragedies like this occur?”  And, as usual, most of them aren’t even close to the right answer.  But there is a simple, “root” reason for things like this occurring; and it’s found only in the Bible.

The Bible explains that because of our refusal to allow the life of God to enter us in the Garden of Eden, so we could be a channel of the life of God in this earth, we received a “sin principle”.  That is, a root of sin that colors the thinking of all who do not walk with Christ.  It produces the attitude:  “I want what I want when I want it.”  This causes a man to lash out at others when he doesn’t get what he wants, when he wants it.  This attitude is the foundation of all the political philosophies in the world—except God’s original plan for government revealed in the Bible.

It becomes obvious, contrary to the way the secular media tries to spin it, that the root thinking of mass killers is against God and the Bible.  With every shooting, we have another example of the wrong thinking producing the wrong actions.  Jesus identified this principle when He stated:

America’s Founding Fathers believed the Bible is true and works in this present world.  They proved this by the structure they gave to this nation and by the spirit of morality they taught must be in that structure for it to function as it was designed.  Neither were they hesitant in expressing this.  They wanted their children to understand where this nation, that was becoming the envy of the world, came from.

By miracles in the Revolutionary War, a basically Biblical government was re-established in America.  And, over the next eleven years, they would work with that government to make it better.  The end product, our national Constitution (written in 1787 and approved by the states by 1789), was no less of a miracle.  Many of our Founders would speak of the miracle that brought our national Constitution into being.  George Washington would acknowledge God’s hand in that Constitutional Convention in a letter to his good friend, Jonathan Trumbull, then Governor of Connecticut.  He wrote,

“…we may, with a kind of pious and grateful exultation, trace the Finger of Providence through those dark and mysterious events which first induced the States to appoint a general Convention, and then led them one after another…to effect the…adoption of the system recommended by that general Convention; thereby in all human probability laying a lasting foundation for tranquility and happiness…
