The Bible tells the story of Nehemiah, the civil leader who rebuilt Jerusalem after the Jews had been captive many years in Persia. In a time when the enemies of God had been trying to discourage the Jews from finishing the work God had called them to, Nehemiah exhorted them:
“…Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and [awesome], and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” (Nehemiah 4:14)

The spiritual and natural enemies of the Gospel of the Kingdom of Christ have been trying for a hundred years to discourage Americans from knowing their history. They knew if they could disconnect us from our past, they could steal from us the reason God birthed this nation; which was to be a vessel of liberty by which to take that Gospel to the world. It only Continue reading
“The fraudulent Roman courts began to be replaced by a Christian court system, the decisions of which people voluntarily accepted because it was so much more just than the Roman courts. Justice reigned among believers, which brought order to their subculture, in stark contrast to the growing anarchy in Roman society.
One of the things I’ve learned about walking with the Lord is that, when we’re missing Him on something He’s leading us to do, He’ll let us try over and over until we finally give up, and listen to His plan. This seems to be what He’s let the U.S. Senate do concerning a so-called “health care bill”. After struggling for months trying to create a new government funded medical insurance law that would replace Obamacare, they’ve finally admitted they can’t. And hopefully they are now willing to cancel entirely the law called Obamacare! This would, presumably, return us to the form of socialized medicine we had in 2008; which wasn’t good, but was a lot less government control than we had with Obama’s communistic system. Hopefully, we’re now on the road to rejecting ALL government funded health care (though I wouldn’t expect this anytime soon)!
“A former Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer who hated President Trump opened fire on Republicans during baseball practice Wednesday. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise [was] in critical condition. Two incredibly brave Capitol Police officers were also injured along with a House aide.
While the Pilgrims and Puritans were establishing themselves in New England, a giant step toward human liberty was occurring in Scotland. In 1638 the King of England was trying to force Roman Catholicism on the Scots. For years the Scots had been more and more throwing off this yoke, and they were not about to submit to what they believed were satanic rituals that would plunge them back into the slavery of the “dark ages”.
Jim Cymbala, Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, says that prayer is born out of a “felt need”. We felt our need acutely before last fall’s elections. We could see the persecution of Christians rising in this nation; we could see the degrading of our nation by previous administrations; we felt the growing socialist control over our children, especially if they were in a tax-supported school. We cried to God out of hearts which felt the need of a change that we couldn’t work. Many of us believe that God answered those desperate cries and mercifully granted us a President and many other government servants who are, at least, respectful of God, the Bible, and the name of Jesus. They honor our flag and our Constitution. Compared to what we’d had for many years, all this is so wonderful it’s easy to think the crisis has passed. But don’t be deceived!
America’s Founders wanted no such control. James Madison warned us on the floor of the very first Congress (and remember it was Madison who wrote most of the Constitution!) of the destruction that would come if the national government ever got involved in education. It would mean that a few people in the national government could control the thinking of the rest of the nation by what it allowed, or disallowed, to be taught in the schools.
Enter once again the tyranny of the national courts. National courts (sometimes referred to as Federal Courts) partially blocked President Trump’s executive order to slow down the flow of immigrants. The President’s position is that he is trying to protect us from terrorist attacks. The Courts say that he is trampling on the rights of immigrants. Thus, we have our first “face-off” between the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch in the new Administration in Washington. So who is right?
Because a nation can only be as strong as it is within its own borders, you cannot help other nations in the world until you are strong at home. Those who expect America to take care of the world either are uninformed as to how God teaches us to help others or they reject the Bible as their standard for such benevolence. Just as the Bible says that “Jesus began to do and teach”, so we cannot share with the world what we are not. “Doing” always precedes “teaching”. A tree can’t extend its branches any farther than its root system equals under the ground or the whole tree will topple. American strength has been flowing away for years (and especially in the last 8 years) because we have tried to join the world “globalism” movement and compromised so many of our historic convictions in order to be “part of the crowd”. All the President has done is to stop the bleeding so we can get into a position of strength once again and lead from the front!
