On April 27th, President Trump did an astounding thing! He reversed an 80-year-old policy concerning the relation of the national government to education in this land. With an Executive Order he set as the official policy of the national government to “protect and preserve State and local control over” the nation’s educational system. That is unprecedented since the national government began to reach into the area of education. National control of schools has grown for over 80 years. Now finally, there is an order from the White House to reverse that destructive trend.
America’s Founders wanted no such control. James Madison warned us on the floor of the very first Congress (and remember it was Madison who wrote most of the Constitution!) of the destruction that would come if the national government ever got involved in education. It would mean that a few people in the national government could control the thinking of the rest of the nation by what it allowed, or disallowed, to be taught in the schools.
We’ve watched as the national Court system has said Continue reading
Enter once again the tyranny of the national courts. National courts (sometimes referred to as Federal Courts) partially blocked President Trump’s executive order to slow down the flow of immigrants. The President’s position is that he is trying to protect us from terrorist attacks. The Courts say that he is trampling on the rights of immigrants. Thus, we have our first “face-off” between the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch in the new Administration in Washington. So who is right?
Because a nation can only be as strong as it is within its own borders, you cannot help other nations in the world until you are strong at home. Those who expect America to take care of the world either are uninformed as to how God teaches us to help others or they reject the Bible as their standard for such benevolence. Just as the Bible says that “Jesus began to do and teach”, so we cannot share with the world what we are not. “Doing” always precedes “teaching”. A tree can’t extend its branches any farther than its root system equals under the ground or the whole tree will topple. American strength has been flowing away for years (and especially in the last 8 years) because we have tried to join the world “globalism” movement and compromised so many of our historic convictions in order to be “part of the crowd”. All the President has done is to stop the bleeding so we can get into a position of strength once again and lead from the front!
“The inauguration of Donald Trump was remarkable in…that six different individuals offered prayers, with four of those prayers ending in Jesus’ name…
-He was outspent probably 2 to 1.
was poised to be one of the most “Pro-life states” in this nation. However, political maneuvering in the House of Representatives killed most every bill designed to protect children in the womb. I remember the frustration of driving away from Frankfort at the end of the Legislative sessions. It was heart-breaking, knowing that thousands of children would be murdered in Kentucky that year because we could not get politicians to enact law that would protect them in their time in the womb. Twelve long years children in the womb languished under oppressive government. But now, finally, many of them (though not yet all) will be protected.
– He was facing an opponent with a deep network of campaign volunteers, party backing, and Mr. Obama working hard for her election.
But beyond the observance of those important symbols, what can we now expect? If Donald Trump keeps his word to the American people—and he has certainly been no shining example of moral rectitude—but if he will keep his word to the American people, we will have at least one Supreme Court judge (and hopefully several) which will be a true Constitutionalist appointed to the Court. We’ll strengthen our military and give them the weapons they need. If Mr. Trump keeps his word, our policemen will be honored and once again unshackled to enforce Constitutional law, instead of sharia or socialist law! Illegal immigration will become a treacherous mountain path instead of the super highway it has been for years! We can expect American industry to recover from years of suffocating socialist regulation. But remember, Mr. Trump has no political record. Therefore, we can’t be sure he’ll do any of the things he promised.
“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God’.”
On February 9th, 2016, a group of Kentucky’s Legislators revealed the shenanigans of “politics by politicians” instead of government being operated by statesmen. These “shenanigans” were led by Speaker of the House, Greg Stumbo (Democrat from Floyd Co.). Senate Bill 7 would have stopped Kentucky tax dollars from going to that wicked organization which is misleadingly named Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood probably commits more abortions across this nation that any other single organization which does abortions. The bill to defund Kentucky’s Planned Parenthood of Kentucky tax dollars was stuck in a Kentucky House committee, so advocates presented what’s called a procedural bill in order to bring SB 7 to the House floor for an “up or down” vote. The vote to bring out SB 7 so it could be voted on went like this:
