“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”  This is God’s admonition from Galatians 6:9.  But long has been the period that tempted Pro-life folks to “faint” in Kentucky.  Early in this century it seemed Kentucky We Reap If We Faint Not1was poised to be one of the most “Pro-life states” in this nation.  However, political maneuvering in the House of Representatives killed most every bill designed to protect children in the womb.  I remember the frustration of driving away from Frankfort at the end of the Legislative sessions.  It was heart-breaking, knowing that thousands of children would be murdered in Kentucky that year because we could not get politicians to enact law that would protect them in their time in the womb.  Twelve long years children in the womb languished under oppressive government.  But now, finally, many of them (though not yet all) will be protected.

Saturday, January 7th, in a special session of the Legislature, the new House of Representatives quickly passed two Pro-life bills which will save thousands of Kentucky children’s lives this year, and each year after this.  One bill, the “Ultra-sound” bill has been pushed by Pro-Life groups and Legislators for at least 12 years, but due Continue reading

George Barna’s American Faith & Culture Institute reports that in his election to the Presidency, Donald Trump “was the recipient of a miracle and America has been granted one more chance to repent and turn the nation’s hearts back to God.”  Consider what was against him:

1whats-ahead-part-2– He was facing an opponent with a deep network of campaign volunteers, party backing, and Mr. Obama working hard for her election.

– He lacked any political experience, which was evident in the debates.

– His campaign had virtually no local volunteers to turn out to vote.

– He was not only mistreated by the media—he made a game of calling them out for their lies and bias, a strategy no previous candidate had dared attempt.

– The Republican establishment party disowned him and many of its leaders said they would not vote for him

– His “favorability score” was the lowest of any presidential candidate ever.

– National polls consistently showed him losing the race.

Dr. Lance Wallnau, believes that God is using Trump as a “wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness”, claiming that Continue reading

We finally have, after 8 years of White House usurpation, an American born citizen as President-elect!  We finally have a President who will salute our flag instead of standing with arms limp when our national anthem is played!!

1whats-ahead-part-1But beyond the observance of those important symbols, what can we now expect?  If Donald Trump keeps his word to the American people—and he has certainly been no shining example of moral rectitude—but if he will keep his word to the American people, we will have at least one Supreme Court judge (and hopefully several) which will be a true Constitutionalist appointed to the Court.  We’ll strengthen our military and give them the weapons they need.  If Mr. Trump keeps his word, our policemen will be honored and once again unshackled to enforce Constitutional law, instead of sharia or socialist law! Illegal immigration will become a treacherous mountain path instead of the super highway it has been for years!  We can expect American industry to recover from years of suffocating socialist regulation.  But remember, Mr. Trump has no political record.  Therefore, we can’t be sure he’ll do any of the things he promised.

So what strengths and weaknesses can we expect to surface in Mr. Trump?  His greatest strength will be Continue reading

Noah Webster, the Father of America’s original education system, said to young people reading his textbooks:

vote-in-all-the-races1“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God’.”

The school teacher who made America great, taught us to look to a person’s character before we give them our vote.  And how are we to know what a person’s character is really like?  Noah Webster revealed that when he warned us not to neglect “the divine commands.”  In other words compare their actions to those the Bible commands us to have.

Donald Trump’s character has certainly not been Godly—but, I believe, Hillary Clinton is much worse than him!  The Benghazi affair incriminates her.  The blood of those Americans killed there cries from the ground it fell on for justice to be done with her!  This is why I have a big sign in the back window of my car which reads:  “VOTE AGAINST HILLARY!”  Without excusing any one of Trump’s wrongs, Continue reading

christians-stand-up-and-vote1On February 9th, 2016, a group of Kentucky’s Legislators revealed the shenanigans of “politics by politicians” instead of government being operated by statesmen.  These “shenanigans” were led by Speaker of the House, Greg Stumbo (Democrat from Floyd Co.).  Senate Bill 7 would have stopped Kentucky tax dollars from going to that wicked organization which is misleadingly named Planned ParenthoodPlanned Parenthood probably commits more abortions across this nation that any other single organization which does abortions.  The bill to defund Kentucky’s Planned Parenthood of Kentucky tax dollars was stuck in a Kentucky House committee, so advocates presented what’s called a procedural bill in order to bring SB 7 to the House floor for an “up or down” vote.  The vote to bring out SB 7 so it could be voted on went like this:

47 voted for SB 7 to come to the House Floor for an “up or down” vote.

10 voted against it coming to the Floor.

39 did not vote at all!!

When no vote is cast at all in the Legislature, that inaction is counted as a vote against the bill.  This meant that 49 Legislators were against defunding Planned Parenthood; 47 Legislators were for defunding Planned Parenthood.  To make it even plainer:  47 Legislators wanted to stop hundreds of abortions from happening in Kentucky; 49 Legislators wanted to keep hundreds of abortions happening in Kentucky this year! Salt is a powerful agent.  It nourishes, heals, flavors, and preserves things.  Jesus used it as an illustration of what His followers are to be.  He stated,

“You are the salt of the earth…”

walked-on-salt1(Matthew 5:13)

As His life flows through born again believers, He nourishes, heals, flavors, and preserves people of every age and description by them being introduced to Him and His delivering power.  On the other hand, Jesus gave a fearful warning concerning us being the “salt” of this earth.  He went on to state,

“… but if the salt has lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted?  It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

In other words, if we, the “salt” of this earth lose our ability to nourish, heal, flavor, and preserve, we will find ourselves being “walked-on” in our society. Continue reading

Thomas Sowells is a powerful political commentator.  He is a senior fellow at the trumps-words-or-hillarys-deeds1Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and he happens to be of African descent.  He analyzes the two Presidential candidates the best I’ve seen.  The Bible says,

He that is first [that is: first to speak] in his own cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and searches him [or cross-examines him].”

(Proverbs 18:17)

Donald Trump has been made to look like the egotist he’s often been because of his bad statement about women.  He deserves it.  However, when you cross-examine Hillary Clinton, she comes out to be the much worse of the two bad candidates.  I urge you to consider Thomas Sowell’s analysis of the two candidates.  He states:

“Donald Trump’s gutter talk about women shows yet again that he is bad news. The problem is that Hillary Clinton is far worse. [emphasis mine] Trump’s talk is indefensible. But Hillary Clinton’s actions as Secretary of State, carrying out the Obama administration’s foreign policies, have cost many lives in many places, including the American ambassador and others killed in Benghazi. Women have a right to be offended by Trump’s words. But women have suffered a far worse fate from Secretary Clinton’s and President Obama’s actions. Pulling American troops out of Iraq, despite military advice to the contrary, led to the sudden rise of ISIS and their seizing of many women and young girls as sex slaves… Continue reading

Joshua called together the leaders of Israel and challenged them to finish the work of establishing the Jews in the Promised Land.  He admonished them,

choose-whom-you-will-serve1“…choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served…or the gods of the Amorites…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

(Joshua 24:15)

The nations around them worshipped (through their idols, Psalm 106:37) a god—satan—which produced a dictator for their civil government.  God, our true Creator, had given to the Jews, through Moses, a government where the people chose their rulers through elections.  The first form of government enslaved the people to their king, the dictator; God’s form of government enslaved the government servants to the people, the citizens, giving to the people in government only specifically written powers which they could exercise over them (we call that a “Constitution”).  The nations around them had a dictatorship for their form of government; the Jews had a republic for their form of government.  And the Jews experienced, through their republic, more liberty and justice for their citizens than any nation had ever experienced up unto that time.

This is one of the things that makes voting such an important act.  We will always be choosing more enslavement or Continue reading

Noah Webster, the Father of America’s original education method, wrote to young people in his U.S. History textbook the following admonition:

voting-is-obedience-to-god1“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God.’ The preservation of [the government of a republic] depends on the faithful discharge of this duty.

“If [the government of a republic] fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.”

(Webster, Noah. 1832. History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 307-308, paragraph 49. Stephen McDowell and Mark Beliles, “The Providential Perspective” (Charlottesville, VA: The Providence Foundation, P.O. Box 6759, Charlottesville, Va. 22906, January 1994), Vol. 9, No. 1, p. 6.)

Voting is not an option for born-again people.  If we claim to know Jesus Christ as our Lord, we are commanded by God to vote—and God tells us what kind of men we are to vote for!  When God formed the government of the Jewish nation, He commanded His people to Continue reading

biblical-voting1Samuel Adams, the Father of our American Revolution, stated,

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present…to please an individual—or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.”

(Samuel Adams, The Writings of Samuel Adams, Harry Alonzo Cushing, editor (New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1907), Vol. IV, p. 256, in the Boston Gazette on April 16, 1781.)

Why did America’s Founders teach that voting was so important?  First of all, they believed that the Bible taught it.  Indeed, in Genesis 1:26, where God tells why He made man, one of His three reasons was that man might “have dominion.”  “Having dominion” means, first of all, that we rule over our own desires.  We call this “internal self-government” (America’s Founders often called it “virtue”).  But that internal self-government must be allowed to grow out into the culture.  We must also “take dominion” in the institutions of the culture.  I refer to the home, the church, and civil government—for those are the three structural institutions by which God builds every nation.  If we do not lead in those institutions then those who do not know and walk in the truth of the Scripture will lead; they will “take dominion” and lead us Continue reading
