“The Choice: Vote or Be Enslaved”

A very important election is close at hand. Next Tuesday, choices will be made by voters that will affect the future of our nation for generations to come. Are you prepared to vote?

The truth is, only 32 million—of the over 100 million people who say they’re born-again—voted in the last election. Most of these are sincere people who are trying to live as God wants them to live. Why then do they not go to the polls and vote? I’m glad you asked.

Up until 1900 the Christian population of America controlled the outcome of elections. No candidate could be elected who did not acknowledge God’s place in the history of our nation. Actually they had to go further than that. In their speeches and writings, they had to acknowledge that Jesus Christ was God’s Son, and that the Bible was the best book to live by in this world. Had a candidate for political office in the 1800’s stated that he believed abortion was a woman’s choice he would have ended his political career then and there. If a candidate had stated that homosexuality was just a different way of family life he would have sealed his political doom. What changed? Why are we in the political slime which has politicians scampering for a way to appeal to homosexual voters? Why are most government servants no longer statesmen? Continue reading →

“Who Must Lead the Reformation”

What will it be like when liberty is gone in America? What will it be like when you can’t tell your children about your faith in Jesus for fear that they might innocently repeat it, be reported to social services, and then be taken away from you? You think that can’t happen in America? This is satan’s main design with the push for homosexual law. And what has caused us to get to this point of nearly losing our liberty? As humbly, yet as honestly as I know how to say it: It’s because our Pastors have backed out of the realm of civil government. We’ve lost the Biblical understanding of it, thus God’s people have been taught by our example—and sometimes by our words—to stay out of government. Yet, this is so different from Biblical examples of government leadership.

Ezra, the Priest, understood fully the role a spiritual leader should take in restoring a nation. Notice what he did. The Bible records in Ezra 7:10,

“For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.”

Ezra not only studied the moral law summed up in the Ten Commandments, he began, “to teach [God’s] statutes and ordinances in Israel”. That is, he began to teach civil law in Israel as a part of his spiritual call from God. Continue reading →

“Who Should Steward Civil Government”

A hundred years ago, who would have ever believed Christians in America would be fighting for the right to keep homosexuals off our church staffs; or that we’d be having to try to protect our children from transgenderism in our schools? What happened to our nation that was once known as the most moral on earth? Can I be “gut-level” honest with you? We as church leaders lost the Biblical understanding of education, business, and civil government. And when we moved out of those God-ordained institutions, satan moved in!

Our Founding Fathers knew the importance of teaching the Biblical understanding of these institutions. This is why they planned an extra meeting on Thursday afternoons, at which the local Pastor would teach about current events in light of the Scripture. By this method they created a nation which had a Biblical view of every major area of life. They knew if the Biblical view of education, business, and civil government did not permeate a nation satan’s view would. If we don’t return to this Biblical view of the world, we will shortly live as slaves to a dictatorial government.

But why should we, as Christians, learn about civil government from our churches? Well, ask yourself this question: Who created civil government? As in all questions, the Bible has the answer. Continue reading →

“God’s Pattern for Restoration – Part 2”

In 1984, during a lull in our ministry, I was earnestly asking the Lord, “What am I supposed to be doing in life? What is your plan for me?” He graciously led me to Isaiah 58:12 and let me know His plan for me and my family was in this verse. This verse says,

“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”

From that time, I knew our family was to be part of a generation which He would raise up to “rebuild the age-old foundations”. As I researched the writings of America’s Founders, I found those “age-old foundations” which enabled them and their children to build the freest and most prosperous nation in world history. The truths on which they laid this foundation were drawn directly from the Bible and that is why they worked in this world. Only God’s order works in a society to bring the best to the greatest number of citizens. Continue reading →

“God’s Pattern for Restoration – Part 1”

As we look at the state of our nation today it can make the righteous heart sick. Moses warned us what would happen if we rejected the Words of the Lord as our guidebook for families and governments. He warned,

“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes (civil laws) which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee…”

(Deuteronomy 28:15)

And yet He promises that His Word will still work if we return and do what it says once again. He promises,

“And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou…shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey His voice according to all that I command thee this day…with all thine heart…That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.” Continue reading →

“An Enemy We Dare Not Ignore”

On September 11th, 2001, President Bush told us that the Moslems are a peace-loving people. He was probably trying to prevent a backlash against the Moslems in this country, some of whom, no doubt, were not for the destruction of 3000 lives by our terrorist attackers. However, in stating that Moslems were a peace-loving people, he started a misunderstanding that could well be the undoing of this nation.

To state that Muslims are peace-loving is to leave the impression that Islam is “sort of” like Christianity. Christianity teaches us that we are not to try to force the will of others and insist that they believe as we do. Islam is completely opposite to this. The Koran, the Muslim “holy book”, states plainly that if unbelievers in Allah, their god, refuse to convert to Islam, they are to be killed. This means Christians, Jews, Hindus, or anyone else of a different faith, have no right to live on this earth unless they are willing to convert to Islam. Thus, we must expose what Islam really is- for you cannot defeat an enemy you’ve not identified. Continue reading →

“Islam IS a Threat”

Recently we’ve been horrified and sickened with the reports of gruesome beheadings in Iraq and Syria. The so-called ISIS army is proudly claiming responsibility for these deaths, proudly proclaiming that they are doing this in the name of allah, their god of Islam. So is this what Islam is? Are we being rudely awakened to see in actuality what Islam is? Or is Islam “peace”, as George W. Bush claimed?

In the 600’s in Arabia, a man was visited by an angel—Gabriel, he thought—and believed he was shown the true way of salvation. That man: Mohammed. The religion he started: Islam.

But the religion he started was not the true way of salvation. Islam greatly disagrees with the Bible in the fact that Jesus is not accepted as the Son of God. This lets us know that Mohammed’s angel was not Gabriel, but rather satan “transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11: 14-15). And since satan comes “to steal, to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10), it comes as no surprise that Islam forces captives to convert to Islam. The Koran actually says to kill those who do not accept Islam as the true religion. Continue reading →

“Will the Real America Please Stand Up- Part 2”

With the U.S. Supreme Court ruling against state Marriage Amendments, the stage is set for the removal of religious liberty for those who believe the Bible to be true. This is satan’s aim in using the homosexual agenda to destroy marriage. By destroying the next generation’s opportunity to hear the Gospel in public, he can easily lock most of them in darkness.

Is there any hope left? Yes, there is! God is still God; He is unchanged and He is still on the throne. He was here before America was birthed; He will be here if it ceases to exist. But having said that let me emphatically say that God’s promise is still the same:

“If my people, who are called by my Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”

(2 Chronicles 7:14, emphasis added)

The message couldn’t be clearer: Repentance brings healing and the postponement of judgment! So whether liberty is preserved to get the Gospel to the next generation is dependent on the people of God. Continue reading →

“God’s Civil Law- or satan’s”

Did you know that if you started reading the day you were born all the laws passed by the national government you could not read them all in a lifetime? No one knows how many laws there are! Law has become so complicated that even the lawyers and judges don’t know what’s there. Why has this happened? Or perhaps you’re asking, “So what? How does that affect me?” Well, I assure you, it affects you a great deal!

Once you have so many laws on the books that the average man doesn’t know what the law requires of him he can no longer be sure of his natural, God-given rights. He lives in confusion as to what his rights and responsibilities are. Furthermore, a judge (who interprets the law to him) could tell him things that are not true and the individual would have no way to argue his rights with that judge. Thus, a people can move into tyranny being ruled by a handful of judges who conspire to make the law say what they want it to. Continue reading →

“The Greatest Need in America”

With more disrespect being shown to our flag, even within our own borders, it would do us well to revisit our heritage! Fort McHenry (where in 1812 a battle raged which inspired Francis Scott Key to write The Star Spangled Banner) was named after a man who served as a medical soldier in George Washington’s army, and later signed the U.S. Constitution. His name was James McHenry. While unknown to us today, James McHenry was one of those men who laid such a firm foundation for America that during the 1800’s it would grow to become the greatest nation on earth. James McHenry got his foundation from the Bible. In addition to his achievements just mentioned, he also served as a member of the Continental Congress, his state legislature, and the U.S. Secretary of War—and President of the Baltimore Bible Society! He had this to say about the Bible:

“…public [usefulness] pleads most forcibly for the general distribution of the Holy Scriptures. The doctrine they preach, the obligations they impose, the punishment they threaten, the rewards they promise…can alone secure to society, order and peace, and to our courts of justice and constitutions of government, purity, stability and usefulness.
