Government Reveals Our Degree of Selfishness 1When Davey Crockett was a Congressman he learned a lesson we desperately need to relearn in our nation.  He once voted for some $20,000 to be set aside from the national treasury to be given to families in north Washington, whose houses had burned.  It seemed to be the compassionate thing to do.  But later, back on the campaign trail, a well-respected farmer told him he could not again vote for him.  When Crockett asked him why, the man, Horatio Bunce, replied that he had violated the Constitution by voting that money for the destitute families.  Bunce then began to explain that the Constitution allows Congress only the right to vote appropriations for the duties which the Constitution enumerates that the government has the power to do.  It gives no power to give money to those citizens who need help.  Bunce said to Crockett, quote:

“The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be entrusted to man…

“If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper.  You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other.  No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity.”

(Harper’s Magazine, 1867, as written by James J. Bethune, pen name of Edward S. Ellis)

Davey Crockett learned a vital lesson that day:  If the people didn’t agree to something in the original Constitution—or haven’t amended it since concerning that power—then the Congress, the President, or the Supreme Court has no right to do it—PERIOD!!!  This view of the Constitution is called Original Intent, and it is the only view that will preserve our liberty!

In the Bible, we learn that we must Continue reading

What is Socialism 1 While fifty years ago a political candidate who would have openly embraced socialism as his political philosophy would have spelled his doom, today it’s becoming much more accepted due to the multitude of Socialists professors in America’s universities. They teach our young adults from a socialist perspective, and many, if not most, of those young adults come to think socialistically. Now they are running for office—and some are winning!

Why is this upsurge in socialism occurring? I believe it is mainly because we don’t understand what socialism really is. satan has always worked in the darkness; and it is in this region of ignorance that tyranny begins. So let’s TURN THE LIGHT ON SOCIALISM. Let’s take a REAL look into it and its operations.

By definition, socialism “is Continue reading

There were shouts…then shots…then screams…then President Trump grabbed his ear and quickly moved down to the stage floor and the protection of the speaker’s stand. Quickly other shots were fired and the assassin’s attempt at murdering President Trump was done—for the shooter was done, in this world.

He was a college student where he heard often, maybe daily, that Donald Trump is the end of democracy in America. He had, no doubt, heard the suggestions from loose-tongued newscasters, talk show hosts, college professors, and politicians. Even Mr. Biden said something like, “There needs to be a bullseye on him”, referring to President Trump.  (David Barton, Wallbuilders.show, 7/16/24)

An example of this is reported in an interview with The Washington Stand  by a Miss Riley Lang, a 21 year old, recently graduated from a major university. She stated, “I am a first-hand witness of students like Thomas Matthew Crooks.”  She noted that while the media, “has not put out information about the shooter’s motivation,”  it seems probable this attack was “the result of a systemic problem…In my university classes, Trump is called a racist, [a woman-hater], an evil person almost daily. And as a young person in this environment, if you support Trump in any capacity, you identify as all these characteristics as well.” Notably, she said, “The shooter was only 20 years old, and for the past seven years has heard Trump being compared to the likes of Hitler.” For Miss Lang, this is likely “the result of a child spending his teen years in [a] divisive political environment, with Marxist professors and teachers and the media painting Trump as a villain.  He [the shooter] is the result of being made into an activist.” Continue reading
