For several years now, there has been a massive move to bring to the forefront of our thinking a political theory known as CRT.  It stands for Critical Race Theory.  And those who believe it insist that all must be FORCED to embrace it.  I first began to encounter it, several years ago, among young Pastors who were graduates of seminaries where the concept of CRT was taught.  It manifested itself in an animosity that bordered on hatred for this nation.  They wanted nothing to do with the truth that America was birthed from Biblical principles; all they could see was the many faults which current America had picked up from the root of the very idea they were proclaiming:  Yes, what they didn’t know—because they’d not been taught our true history—they didn’t know that what they now believed about America was what those who wanted to overthrow the liberty of America had taught their teachers.  Yes, so-called Critical Race Theory was nothing more than the same old Communist garbage can, painted a different color.  The ultimate aim was the same:  Divide this nation along racial lines; let hatred produce civil upheaval; which would produce fear.  And when people are afraid, they will more readily change their form of government.

In reality, Critical Race Theory is simply the idea that:  If you are of European descent, you are the oppressor; if you are of darker skin, you are the oppressed.  Can we not please use our minds instead of acting like a flock of sheep?!  What does skin tone have to do with political oppression?!!

To “divide and conquer” has always been Continue reading

Whenever I’ve been in New England studying America’s history, I’ve always been awe-struck by the many monuments and markers in that region which told of our past. Our beginnings there speak to us in a great way concerning our Biblical roots. Everywhere I turned there were references to the work of Jesus Christ in the lives of our ancestors. Why did our forefathers place these monuments there? Why are their words so specific in their instruction to us?

For example, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where the Pilgrims first landed, there is a large stone placed over the spot where they buried half their number that first winter. On the back of that stone are printed some words we definitely need to know. They Continue reading

On June 6, 1944 the beginning of the end for the satanic Nazi regime was ignited on the Normandy beaches in France. An Allied force of three million men, over 5,000 ships, and 11,000 planes crossed the choppy waters and attacked the Nazi strongholds in the cliffs of Normandy. Never, in the history of man, had such a force been amassed to attack an enemy. Even so, it would not be easy. More than 54,000 of those troops would die in that invasion. Another 155,000 plus would have the rest of their lives altered from wounds incurred in those hours of the invasion. But victory was achieved! This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the price of liberty!

General Dwight Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of this joint force, wrote a letter which was read to the troops stirring them to trust God to help them achieve this victory. It read, in part, as follows:

“You are about to embark on the great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you…you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

“…let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.”

And God showed up with miracles on behalf of liberty in answer to those prayers.

For one thing, the weather was Continue reading

Love Your Enemies- But STAND Against Them- 1On October 8th, 1918, an Army corporal from the mountains of Tennessee did an amazing thing while fighting in World War I.  Alvin York, a shy young man, who didn’t even want to go to war, performed so well in the line of duty he would later be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.  York, who had been converted to Christ after being known as a “hell-raiser”, struggled with going to war because Jesus had taught that we should be peacemakers.  However, he finally reasoned from the Bible that, as he would say,

“If a man can make peace by fighting, then he is a peacemaker.”

Once committed to his country’s cause, he distinguished himself as an amazing marksman.  That ability would serve him well this October day.

His patrol was moving behind German lines who were ‘dug in’ within deep trenches.  The Germans discovered York and his troop, and opened fire.  The American patrol was pinned down and York would later report that the bushes all around him were shot to pieces yet he was miraculously spared.  At great risk to his life he worked his way around the hillside where he could Continue reading

John Smith- Man of Courage and Leadership 1Jamestown would not have survived without him.  Plymouth may not have survived without him.  America might not even be in existence had it not been for this one individual.  I’m referring to John Smith; soldier, adventurer, and—you might be surprised to know—Christian.  One of the most colorful individuals in all of history, this Englishman with the very common name, John Smith, is also one of the most important individuals in all of history.  Not that you’ll find much about him in the textbooks of our day.  It’s interesting how many great individuals have been completely ignored by modern-day historians.  But that’s another subject.  Why was John Smith so important to America?

Smith came with those who landed at Jamestown in the spring of 1607.  He had been picked by the council who sent them to be one of the leaders.  But jealousy among the group refused his leadership, and they even put him in chains for the whole trip across the Atlantic.  Once here though, his Christian character and his many experiences began to shine to the point he could not be denied his rightful place as leader of the colony.  Taking Continue reading

Most people live and die without ever finding the hope that they can be what God created them to be. But you can have that hope! Jesus Christ wants to step into you and live His life through you. He wants to bring you into all He created you to be. Thousands in the first three centuries found that hope. Here’s how it happened as described in the book Why God Birthed America:

Man's Hope--Being God's Earthsuit 1“Jesus’ followers had been together a lot during those ten days after He had returned to heaven. They had opened their hearts to each other in a way they had never done before. Somehow, reflecting on Jesus’ different appearances made it easier to bare one’s thoughts – the hopes and the fears. This opening of the heart began to work a oneness, a unity among them that made them feel as if they were a real part of the others: An actual body of believers, joined together by the same thinking, moving in the same direction.

“They had decided to come together on the Day of Pentecost; a Feast which reminded them of God’s awesome power displayed when God gave the Ten Commandments. Through the prophet Ezekiel, God had promised Continue reading

Jesus had been dead three days. Some of the women who had followed Him came to His tomb early and had found the stone door rolled away and His body gone! They had told His disciples, and Peter and John had come to the grave site and seen for themselves that His body was gone. But now the others had left and only Mary Magdalene remained. It is here we pick up the story from the book, Why God Birthed America:

“Mary did not want to leave. She stood there a few steps from the entrance to the grave, trying to sort out all that had happened. The angels had said He was alive. Jesus Himself had told them He would come back to life. But could that really be?

“She moved closer to the entrance. Questions were flying through her mind. Could He really be alive again?

“She didn’t know how long she stood there lost in thought. But as she put her head on the doorway and wept, she was instantly blinded with light! There they were again! The two shining creatures they had seen earlier.

“They looked at her with compassion. ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ they asked. ‘Because they’ve taken away my Lord and I don’t know where they’ve put Him’, she wailed.

“She turned her head away, having no stamina which could stand up to the questions of celestial beings. What had happened? Where was His body? Her mind was racing, exceeded only by the racing of her heart.

“Blinded by tears, she turned Continue reading

Ladies and Gentlemen, we continue to see the crucifixion of Jesus as written in the book, Why God Birthed America:

“By now it was noon, and a strange thing begins to happen. The sky begins to darken with an eerie blackness. For a few brief moments, the air was so still it seemed to choke you as the darkness deepened. Then the earth began to tremble. Lightning bolts were exploding against the ground.

“Then, unexpectedly, the voice of Jesus pierces the darkness. In a loud, wrenching voice Jesus cries out, ‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’ (Matthew 27:45-46)

“The level of emotional pain expressed by this outcry was incomprehensible. All who heard it were arrested by its intensity. While the light produced by the lightning bolts was short-lived, the pain in His face that they exposed was unforgettable. His brow was deeply wrinkled. The blood on his battered face was Continue reading

March 17th is set aside each year to remember a man who lived in Ireland in the 400s. His life would not only lead thousands of the Irish out of satanism to Jesus Christ as their Lord; his Biblical teaching concerning government would literally lay the foundation for liberty in America.

Patrick of Ireland was actually born in England, but at sixteen years of age was captured and taken to Ireland to be a slave. While many in our day would blame God as being unfair if that happened to them, Patrick did just the opposite. He recognized that the heathen living of him and his neighbors had brought him this captivity. He described their state as being,

“…quite drawn away from God, we did not keep His precepts…”

(Great Christian Classics, Kevin Swanson ed. (Generations With Vision, 2010), p. 135)

But during this time of captivity Patrick would find Continue reading

“His Order, Our Help”

His Order-Our Help 1Except for one thing, the state of our land could be very discouraging. If we look only at the Moslem threat, the homosexual agenda, or the work of socialists inside our governments, we could well be in despair. However, if any person or people set their will to walk in the order of God, they have proven to be invincible under any circumstances. It is my hope, that if we can experience revival, we would need not fear any enemy, internal or external.

The Bible teaches that one with God is always a majority. Moses stood at the Red Sea without a single earthly hope of being delivered from Pharaoh’s fast approaching army. But because he was obeying God in bringing out His people from bondage, God said through Moses,

“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD…” (Exodus 14:13)

Moses obeyed, and, to his amazement, he watched God’s people get delivered from the greatest army on earth. God still does this today.

Patrick Henry encouraged our Founding Fathers to not be afraid to stand in God’s order against the world’s greatest army of their day in his “Give me liberty or give me death!” speech. He finished it by saying Continue reading
