There were shouts…then shots…then screams…then President Trump grabbed his ear and quickly moved down to the stage floor and the protection of the speaker’s stand. Quickly other shots were fired and the assassin’s attempt at murdering President Trump was done—for the shooter was done, in this world.

He was a college student where he heard often, maybe daily, that Donald Trump is the end of democracy in America. He had, no doubt, heard the suggestions from loose-tongued newscasters, talk show hosts, college professors, and politicians. Even Mr. Biden said something like, “There needs to be a bullseye on him”, referring to President Trump.  (David Barton, Wallbuilders.show, 7/16/24)

An example of this is reported in an interview with The Washington Stand  by a Miss Riley Lang, a 21 year old, recently graduated from a major university. She stated, “I am a first-hand witness of students like Thomas Matthew Crooks.”  She noted that while the media, “has not put out information about the shooter’s motivation,”  it seems probable this attack was “the result of a systemic problem…In my university classes, Trump is called a racist, [a woman-hater], an evil person almost daily. And as a young person in this environment, if you support Trump in any capacity, you identify as all these characteristics as well.” Notably, she said, “The shooter was only 20 years old, and for the past seven years has heard Trump being compared to the likes of Hitler.” For Miss Lang, this is likely “the result of a child spending his teen years in [a] divisive political environment, with Marxist professors and teachers and the media painting Trump as a villain.  He [the shooter] is the result of being made into an activist.” Continue reading

It really amazes me how so many people continue to sleep in the midst of this crisis, which, without revival, will end in the loss of our liberty.  Yet most Americans  continue on and on with no serious thought that our nation could be forever changed.  It is the fault of our education process that we continue to sleep, as we did on the morning when we were attacked at Pearl Harbor in 1941.  This is not to place all the blame on school systems either; education is much more than just the classroom.  The television programming, the internet viewing, the music we listen to, are all major contributors to the way we now think.  Without careful study of the Bible, believing that its teachings are true and thereby should be lived by, we simply follow the inclinations of our own thinking—and that’s the root problem.

The Bible says, “There is not a just man upon the earth that doeth good and sinneth not.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20)  It reveals that our “…heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; [but] who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)  This is because there is a root of sin in us which releases in us the attitude of “I want what I want when I want it.”  To get what you want, you have to be able to control your circumstances.  That means you have to fight someone else for control.  This desire for control is what has caused every hurt and every war in history.  Thus, those who haven’t surrendered their will to Jesus Christ, and had His life replace theirs in this world, cannot Continue reading

A hundred years ago, who would have ever believed Christians in America would be fighting for the right to keep homosexuals off our church staffs or that we’d be having to try to protect our children from transgenderism in our schools?  What happened to our nation that was once known as the most moral on earth?  Can I be “gut-level” honest with you?  We, as church leaders, lost the Biblical understanding of education, business, and civil government.  And when we moved out of those God-ordained institutions, satan moved in!

Our Founding Fathers knew the importance of teaching the Biblical understanding of these institutions.  This is why they planned an extra meeting on Thursday afternoons, at which the local Pastor would teach about current events in light of the Scripture.  By this method they created a nation which had a Biblical view of every major area of life.  They knew if the Biblical view of education, business, and civil government did not permeate a nation satan’s view would.  If we don’t return to this Biblical view of the world, we will shortly live as slaves to a dictatorial government.

But why should we, as Christians, learn about civil government from our churches?  Well, ask yourself this question:  Who created civil government?  As in all questions, the Bible has the answer. Continue reading

On April 19, 1775, Pastor Jonas Clark in Lexington, Massachusetts had watched his men allow the British to fire first into their ranks, obeying the Biblical principle that only a defensive war is just.  One year later Pastor Clark would boldly proclaim about this event:

“From this day will be dated the liberty of the world.”

(America’s Providential History, M. Beliles-S. McDowell, 1989, pg. 141)

Concerning Civil Government, God says in Romans 13:1,

“…there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

Thus, we see that God is the One Who created the realm of authority known as civil government, just as He created the realms of authority known as the home and the church.  And from the Garden of Eden to the time of Noah, God exercised the authority of civil government by punishing crime Himself.  He set up the angel with the flaming sword to guard the Tree of Life, and keep man from eating of it after man had sinned.  It was God, Himself, who pronounced the sentence on Cain for murdering his brother, Abel.  It was God who sent the great Flood and punished the people of Noah’s day for their crimes of immorality and violence.  So early in human history God took responsibility for enforcing His statutes of civil law onto man.

Sam Adams, the Father of the American Revolution, which secured our liberty in America, stated:

Christ Brings Freedom to the Whole Man 1“The right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, the rights of the Colonists as Christians may best be understood by reading and carefully studying the institutions of The Great Law Giver and the Head of the Christian Church, which are…clearly written…in the New Testament.”

Knowing Our History Is a Must- 1Woodrow Wilson said:

“A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do.  We are trying to do a futile thing if we do not know where we came from or what we have been about…”

Where did earlier generations get the idea we are to know our history?  Why did our ancestors place so much emphasis on knowing our history?  Could our present decline be rooted in the “national amnesia” so prevalent across our land?

While it may be a shock to some; America’s Founders got the idea they must communicate to their children the story of where they came from—right out of the Bible.  It was the Pastors who taught the importance of remembering our history.  They pointed out such commands by God as the one in Deuteronomy 32:7, which states:

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.”

The Greatest Need in America 1With more disrespect being shown to our flag, even within our own borders, it would do us well to revisit our heritage! Fort McHenry (where in 1812 a battle raged which inspired Francis Scott Key to write The Star Spangled Banner) was named after a man who served as a medical soldier in George Washington’s army, and later signed the U.S. Constitution. His name was James McHenry. While unknown to us today, James McHenry was one of those men who laid such a firm foundation for America that during the 1800s it would grow to become the greatest nation on earth. James McHenry got his foundation from the Bible. In addition to his achievements just mentioned, he also served as a member of the Continental Congress, his state legislature, and the U.S. Secretary of War—and President of the Baltimore Bible Society! He had this to say about the Bible:

“…public [usefulness] pleads most forcibly for the general distribution of the Holy Scriptures. The doctrine they preach, the obligations they impose, the punishment they threaten, the rewards they promise…can alone secure to society, order and peace, and to our courts of justice and constitutions of government, purity, stability and usefulness.

“In vain, without the Bible, we increase penal laws and draw entrenchments around our institutions. Bibles are strong entrenchments.”
