In traveling about this region of several states, I’ve noticed the many prayer meetings that have been taking place the last three years.  Many of those expressed great concern for the state of our nation and the elections of 2016.  Having won most of those elections I’ve been very interested to see if the prayer meetings would continue.  I’m happy to say many of them are.  However, I have a great concern.

Our Vision Must Increase 1Jim Cymbala, Pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, says that prayer is born out of a “felt need”.  We felt our need acutely before last fall’s elections.  We could see the persecution of Christians rising in this nation; we could see the degrading of our nation by previous administrations; we felt the growing socialist control over our children, especially if they were in a tax-supported school.  We cried to God out of hearts which felt the need of a change that we couldn’t work.  Many of us believe that God answered those desperate cries and mercifully granted us a President and many other government servants who are, at least, respectful of God, the Bible, and the name of Jesus.  They honor our flag and our Constitution.  Compared to what we’d had for many years, all this is so wonderful it’s easy to think the crisis has passed.  But don’t be deceived!

What caused us to be in the death struggle for the life of our nation has Continue reading

On April 27th, President Trump did an astounding thing!  He reversed an 80-year-old policy concerning the relation of the national government to education in this land.  With an Executive Order he set as the official policy of the national government to “protect and preserve State and local control over” the nation’s educational system.  That is unprecedented since the national government began to reach into the area of education.  National control of schools has grown for over 80 years.  Now finally, there is an order from the White House to reverse that destructive trend.

Giant Step Toward Educational Freedom 1America’s Founders wanted no such control.  James Madison warned us on the floor of the very first Congress (and remember it was Madison who wrote most of the Constitution!) of the destruction that would come if the national government ever got involved in education.  It would mean that a few people in the national government could control the thinking of the rest of the nation by what it allowed, or disallowed, to be taught in the schools.

We’ve watched as the national Court system has said Continue reading

Courts Usurp Power to Cancel Trump's Order1Enter once again the tyranny of the national courts.  National courts (sometimes referred to as Federal Courts) partially blocked President Trump’s executive order to slow down the flow of immigrants.  The President’s position is that he is trying to protect us from terrorist attacks.  The Courts say that he is trampling on the rights of immigrants.  Thus, we have our first “face-off” between the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch in the new Administration in Washington.  So who is right?

Bryan Fischer, one of my favorite policy analysts, has summed up the issue very well.  He states,

“Article I, Section 9 gives to Congress unilateral, unquestioned, unchallengeable authority to admit to our shores only those it ‘shall think proper to admit.’  If Congress doesn’t think they should come in, they don’t get to come in, regardless of what unelected oligarchs think about the matter.” (in other words, the judges) Continue reading

The media is in an uproar over President Trump’s Executive Order concerning immigration.  Not that the media being in an uproar against what is right is anything new, but many are questioning if what he has done in greatly slowing down the immigration rate is right.  Did the President move too quickly in giving this order?  In my opinion, given the “deep bleed” in the body of the American state, we can’t fault him much in this.

Trump's Immigration Fix1Because a nation can only be as strong as it is within its own borders, you cannot help other nations in the world until you are strong at home.  Those who expect America to take care of the world either are uninformed as to how God teaches us to help others or they reject the Bible as their standard for such benevolence.  Just as the Bible says that “Jesus began to do and teach”, so we cannot share with the world what we are not.  “Doing” always precedes “teaching”.  A tree can’t extend its branches any farther than its root system equals under the ground or the whole tree will topple.  American strength has been flowing away for years (and especially in the last 8 years) because we have tried to join the world “globalism” movement and compromised so many of our historic convictions in order to be “part of the crowd”.  All the President has done is to stop the bleeding so we can get into a position of strength once again and lead from the front!

So what does the Bible say about immigration?  Since it has something to say about Continue reading

David Barton, President of Wallbuilders, shares with us the reason for the protestors being at the Presidential Inauguration.  The Bible teaches that satan blinds “…the minds of them that believe not.”  (2 Corinthians 4:4)   The protestors at the inauguration are sad examples of this.  But we must know why they think like they do or we will allow our liberty to be destroyed by them!  I’m quoting extensively from Mr. Barton.  He writes:

Inauguration Protestors1“The inauguration of Donald Trump was remarkable in…that six different individuals offered prayers, with four of those prayers ending in Jesus’ name…

“Another unique feature of his inauguration was the large number of protestors present. Most were [from 20-36 years old], and [many] were still protesting the general election results…a common protest sign was ‘Trump is not my president’.  But that statement says more about our education system than it does about those who held the signs. It affirms the failure of American education in four areas:  American history, government, Constitution, and truth.

“First, the sign was intended to express their outrage over the fact that Hillary won the popular vote…but lost the presidency—an outcome they believed was unprecedented in the history of American elections.  Only it wasn’t.  The identical thing has happened in several other presidential elections.  Shame on schools for not teaching basic American history, and why such outcomes occur. Many of us are now celebrating Donald Trump’s Inauguration to the Presidency of the United States.  In my opinion, a miracle brought this about.  Consider:

-He had no political experience, and he faced an opponent with decades of government involvement.

Inauguration--Then and Now1-He was outspent probably 2 to 1.

-He constantly made the media his enemies by exposing their lies.

-All major polls showed him defeated going into Election Day.

-He even lost the popular vote, and only the great wisdom of America’s Founders in establishing the Electoral College made possible his win.

I describe Donald Trump’s ascendancy to the White House as a MIRACLE!

Another miracle occurred in 1789, in the approval of our Constitution, as many of our Founders in America pointed out.  On April 30, 1789, George Washington took the first Oath of Office of the Presidency, as prescribed by the Constitution.  Having his right hand raised and his left hand on the Bible he stated Continue reading

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”  This is God’s admonition from Galatians 6:9.  But long has been the period that tempted Pro-life folks to “faint” in Kentucky.  Early in this century it seemed Kentucky We Reap If We Faint Not1was poised to be one of the most “Pro-life states” in this nation.  However, political maneuvering in the House of Representatives killed most every bill designed to protect children in the womb.  I remember the frustration of driving away from Frankfort at the end of the Legislative sessions.  It was heart-breaking, knowing that thousands of children would be murdered in Kentucky that year because we could not get politicians to enact law that would protect them in their time in the womb.  Twelve long years children in the womb languished under oppressive government.  But now, finally, many of them (though not yet all) will be protected.

Saturday, January 7th, in a special session of the Legislature, the new House of Representatives quickly passed two Pro-life bills which will save thousands of Kentucky children’s lives this year, and each year after this.  One bill, the “Ultra-sound” bill has been pushed by Pro-Life groups and Legislators for at least 12 years, but due Continue reading

George Barna’s American Faith & Culture Institute reports that in his election to the Presidency, Donald Trump “was the recipient of a miracle and America has been granted one more chance to repent and turn the nation’s hearts back to God.”  Consider what was against him:

1whats-ahead-part-2– He was facing an opponent with a deep network of campaign volunteers, party backing, and Mr. Obama working hard for her election.

– He lacked any political experience, which was evident in the debates.

– His campaign had virtually no local volunteers to turn out to vote.

– He was not only mistreated by the media—he made a game of calling them out for their lies and bias, a strategy no previous candidate had dared attempt.

– The Republican establishment party disowned him and many of its leaders said they would not vote for him

– His “favorability score” was the lowest of any presidential candidate ever.

– National polls consistently showed him losing the race.

Dr. Lance Wallnau, believes that God is using Trump as a “wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness”, claiming that Continue reading

We finally have, after 8 years of White House usurpation, an American born citizen as President-elect!  We finally have a President who will salute our flag instead of standing with arms limp when our national anthem is played!!

1whats-ahead-part-1But beyond the observance of those important symbols, what can we now expect?  If Donald Trump keeps his word to the American people—and he has certainly been no shining example of moral rectitude—but if he will keep his word to the American people, we will have at least one Supreme Court judge (and hopefully several) which will be a true Constitutionalist appointed to the Court.  We’ll strengthen our military and give them the weapons they need.  If Mr. Trump keeps his word, our policemen will be honored and once again unshackled to enforce Constitutional law, instead of sharia or socialist law! Illegal immigration will become a treacherous mountain path instead of the super highway it has been for years!  We can expect American industry to recover from years of suffocating socialist regulation.  But remember, Mr. Trump has no political record.  Therefore, we can’t be sure he’ll do any of the things he promised.

So what strengths and weaknesses can we expect to surface in Mr. Trump?  His greatest strength will be Continue reading

Noah Webster, the Father of America’s original education system, said to young people reading his textbooks:

vote-in-all-the-races1“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God’.”

The school teacher who made America great, taught us to look to a person’s character before we give them our vote.  And how are we to know what a person’s character is really like?  Noah Webster revealed that when he warned us not to neglect “the divine commands.”  In other words compare their actions to those the Bible commands us to have.

Donald Trump’s character has certainly not been Godly—but, I believe, Hillary Clinton is much worse than him!  The Benghazi affair incriminates her.  The blood of those Americans killed there cries from the ground it fell on for justice to be done with her!  This is why I have a big sign in the back window of my car which reads:  “VOTE AGAINST HILLARY!”  Without excusing any one of Trump’s wrongs, Continue reading
