The little boy tugged at the young man’s coat sleeve. “How far is it to America?” he asked, “Will we soon be there?” “No, lad,” the man replied, “It will take many days to cross this huge ocean.” The little boy gazed briefly across the ocean to the west. Then, unaware of the risks of such a voyage, he ran to find his friend to tell him this ship, the Mayflower, would be their playground for a long time. The young man continued to gaze across the vast ocean. His thoughts drifted back twenty years—to the time he had first met these people he was now a part of.

He remembered the wonderful meetings they had in their homes in England. For the first time in his life he had felt accepted, really accepted. These people were genuine, somehow he just knew it. Though others were saying this group were bigots who thought they were the only ones who were right and that they had “gone off the deep end” with their religion, he knew the truth. These people were real. They people didn’t claim to be perfect. They readily admitted that they too were capable of selfishness. But the unique thing about them (that so set them apart from those who were against them) was that they had entered into an agreement to help each other not give into selfishness by letting their friends point it out to them. And the way they did it seemed safer to him than living the way his relatives did. Because they recognized their own bent toward selfishness, they didn’t trust their own thoughts alone. What is Socialism 1It is just hard to believe that we have so many Presidential candidates that are openly embracing socialism! While fifty years ago a socialist political candidate couldn’t get to “first base”, today it’s becoming much more accepted due to the multitude of Socialists professors in America’s universities. They teach our young adults from a socialist perspective, and many, if not most, of those young adults come to think socialistically. Now they are running for office—even the Presidency!

Why is this upsurge in socialism occurring? I believe it is mainly because we don’t understand what socialism really is. satan has always worked in the darkness; and it is in this region of ignorance that tyranny begins. So let’s TURN THE LIGHT ON SOCIALISM. Let’s take a REAL look into it and its operations.

When the Pilgrims came here in 1620, they had learned some things that recent generations have had stolen from them.  For instance, they had come to understand that the basis of the government is covenant.  No state can exist very long if its citizens are not in covenant with each other.

The word covenant is defined as “a meeting or agreement of minds”.  The minds of a people living under a particular government must be in agreement on the basics of life if they are to be able to walk together throughout the generations.

They must agree about Who God is, and who He says they are, and what His plan for them is, both as individuals and a nation.  Without this agreement, education, commerce, and government just become Continue reading →

The most dangerous piece of legislation to ever come out of the U.S. House of Representatives is now in the U.S. Senate awaiting a hearing.  It is falsely named The Equality Act, but should be named The Religious Liberty and Free Speech Death Act!!  It has been pushed as the expansion of civil rights, identifying with the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  But expansion means including sexual orientation and gender identity as a civil right.  The practical implications are devastating!

It would mean churches and Christian schools could be forced by the Courts to hire sodomites and so-called “transgenders” as staff workers.  This would mean they could teach a compromised message which they would claim was in the Bible.  They might even try to cast Jesus as a homosexual.  What would that do for your children and grandchildren?  Those who teach the Bible as absolute truth could Continue reading →

When God created Israel’s civil government, He commanded Moses:

“…thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers…” (Exodus 18:21)

Thus, God gives us His qualifications for government servants.  I believe Kentucky Governor, Matt Bevin, has fulfilled these qualifications better than any governor in my lifetime of sixty-nine years.  While certainly not a perfect man, he’s done remarkably well at fulfilling this command.  Only the socialists who hate him scream otherwise:  As if they could put forth a perfect man.

In the beginning, when God made man, He intended that man should be a vessel of His own life; having the very life of God flow through His spirit, soul, and body.  But we chose not to allow God to come to live inside us and release His life through us, by eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil—instead of eating of the Tree of Life.  Thus, we stepped outside the Order of God and starting operating in a different system than that for which we were designed (Genesis 3).  We began to try to provide for ourselves by selfish acts.  If we had surrendered to God and allowed His life to come inside us, everything we needed for life would have flowed up and out through us.  The work we would have done would have been for the purpose of working with God:  Not for the purpose of making sure we had enough to eat.  Thus, we flipped God’s system on its head and began to operate from a completely different system than God designed for us.

“The Pilgrims — Overcoming the Hard Times”

The Pilgrims - Overcoming the Hard Times 1Forefathers Monument, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is dedicated to the memory of the Pilgrims:  Specifically to the memory of, “…their labors, sufferings, and sacrifices in the cause of civil and religious liberty.”  One of the five statues which make up Forefathers Monument is Morality.  This statue reveals the Pilgrims desire to live conforming their actions to the Bible.  They demonstrated how Christ could live His life through us if we were surrendered to Him as a living Master.  And that was true in hard times as well as good times.  Their story shows us this reality—even in the most difficult circumstances.

When they came together in a church covenant in 1605 to: “…walk together in all His ways…whatsoever it should cost them…” (Bradford, William. Of Plimoth Plantation), it would cost them dearly.  Several times over the next three years, English deputies would burst into their worship meetings, hauling the men off to jail; fining them and keeping them locked up for thirty days.  This cost them financially because they were unable to work their farms during those times.

The Pilgrims landed in America nearly 400 years ago.  But do you know why they came to America?  Was it to start a new life?  Well, yes; but what kind of life?  Was it so they could be free?  Well, yes; but what kind of freedom were they looking for?  Because most of us don’t know the answer to these questions is why we continue to accept—or even vote for—more and more of the slavery from which they were fleeing.

Perhaps you would say, “They came here for religious freedom.”  And you would be right—but, what kind of religious freedom?  Did they come merely so they could sing songs to God and study the Bible in their own gatherings?  No, they came with a much broader desire than that.

The attacks on Governor Matt Bevin here in Kentucky have been relentless:  And for what?  Because he is trying to fix Kentucky’s failing pension plan for state workers.  Those attacks have come mostly from the Kentucky Education Association and their allies, the major media outlets here in the state.  Why would they do this?
