Socialist politicians are everywhere ranting that all should have free education; free medical care; free housing.  My only question to that is:  “Says who?”  Does God say it in the Bible?  Or is it purely the idea of some man?

Socialism Takes - It Doesn't Give- 1God teaches us that He has given to man a system by which his physical and material needs can be met.  It’s quite simple, but very, very effective.  God releases into us at the moment of conception certain abilities which, if we follow His leading, He will later direct into a calling through which our needs will be met.  A surgeon gets thinking and motor skills which will enable him to remove harmful things and reset body tissue so that God’s natural healing can take place.  An automobile mechanic gets the understanding in his mind and skill in his hands by which to diagnose and repair your vehicle.  God then intends for us to be taught by parents, pastors, and other teachers how to work with those skills to better the lives of others.  They, in turn, pay us for our services, which betters our lives.  God’s Kingdom gets advanced in both parties because each realizes that God’s way works; which encourages faith in God’s Word and His calling in other areas of life.

Socialism works just the opposite of this.  It teaches that, “there are just some people who can’t take care of themselves.”  So we give tax-funded food, clothing, and housing to a few in the beginning.  Then politicians (not statesmen, mind you!) see Continue reading →

What is Socialism 1 While fifty years ago a political candidate who would have openly embraced socialism as his political philosophy would have spelled his doom, today it’s becoming much more accepted due to the multitude of Socialists professors in America’s universities. They teach our young adults from a socialist perspective, and many, if not most, of those young adults come to think socialistically. Now they are running for office—and some are winning!

Why is this upsurge in socialism occurring? I believe it is mainly because we don’t understand what socialism really is. satan has always worked in the darkness; and it is in this region of ignorance that tyranny begins. So let’s TURN THE LIGHT ON SOCIALISM. Let’s take a REAL look into it and its operations.

On April 19th, 1775, seventy-five American farmers faced an overwhelming force of some 600 British professional soldiers. The Americans were out-manned, out-gunned, and out-trained. And when the first shots were fired, nine of the Americans fell dead. Why were they willing to face such overwhelming odds? Were they dreamers? Were they crazy? Were they men of such noble ideas that they were willing to die for them? While they were all these things (except crazy), they had an even greater reason for resisting the King of England. They believed they were obeying the God of the Bible with their resistance. Their Congress had stated:

“Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian…duty of each individual…Continue steadfast, and with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly…defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.”

Since the Garden of Eden there has been a war of ideas going on in this world. Today we see this war manifested in the battle over what methods will be used in our education systems, with the minds of our children being the prize that goes to the victor. It is likewise evident in the economic realm, as those who believe government should stay out of business debate with those who believe increased government interference will solve our economic woes. Government itself is a battleground of ideas. There are those who believe government is a tool of God to maintain order. On the other side there are those who believe government is god!

Do we Americans live in the land of the free; or the land of political slavery?  Political slavery, or socialism, means that the few who administer civil government tell the rest of us what to do.  To determine if we live in political slavery:

  • Ask a parent if they can spank their child without fear of the government removing the child from them;
  • Ask a school teacher if they can choose their own curriculum;
  • Ask a physician if they can choose the type of medicine, therapy, or hospital, by which they care for their patients;
  • Ask a business owner if he can operate without first consulting government as to his location, pay for employees, and tools he uses;
  • Ask a church if they can building a building, or parking lot, without first asking government about septic systems, phone taxes, employee taxes, fire prevention restrictions, etc.;
  • Ask an individual how long he works each year just to pay the government what he is taxed. Let me answer that one for you: 30% of their work year!!

It wasn’t working.  The spring of 1623 saw the Pilgrims into their third year in America.  But there was a serious problem.  They were hungry:  And because of it they had no energy with which to plow their fields and plant their crops.  They knew winter would come again and with it death by starvation if they didn’t go to the fields.  Yet many of them just seemed unable to get themselves moving.

The Economy of the Pilgrims-2Recognizing the seriousness of their situation, their Governor, William Bradford, called for a meeting of the leaders of the colony.  They didn’t have to discuss their problem very long until they pinpointed what was wrong:  It was the socialistic economy they were trying to labor under.  They had long known this.  The businessmen who had financed their trip had insisted they live by a common storehouse.  In other words, they were to put all their produce into one storehouse, no matter which family had raised that produce.  Then, they were to take out as little as they could get by with for their own needs, and send the rest of it back to England to their financiers as payment for their debt.  The Pilgrims knew this would not work, but the businessmen insisted this is how they must do it.  The Pilgrims knew the Scripture taught that, “If any would not work, neither should he eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10).   And they knew that even Christian people, like themselves, had to know they could “reap what they sowed” if they were to produce well.   However, they felt they had no choice.  They had to Continue reading →

To any honest, diligent student of history it is obvious that the generation of America’s Founders was one of (if not the) wisest generations that ever walked this earth. The Republic they gave birth to would rival the greatest nations on earth after only fifty years. Many political thinkers would come here just to try to find the secret of the genius of this Republic. Since then, probably more people have, of their own free will, immigrated here than to any other nation on earth; which shows us the greatness of what they created.
