While fifty years ago a political candidate who would have openly embraced socialism as his political philosophy would have spelled his doom, today it’s becoming much more accepted due to the multitude of Socialists professors in America’s universities. They teach our young adults from a socialist perspective, and many, if not most, of those young adults come to think socialistically. Now they are running for office—and some are winning!
Why is this upsurge in socialism occurring? I believe it is mainly because we don’t understand what socialism really is. satan has always worked in the darkness; and it is in this region of ignorance that tyranny begins. So let’s TURN THE LIGHT ON SOCIALISM. Let’s take a REAL look into it and its operations.
By definition, socialism “is an economic system based on public ownership of the means of production.” In other words, the government owns, or at least, controls the tools which produce products or services in a society. This takes away the right of private citizens to own those tools of production; which, in effect, places control of all incomes in the hands of the rulers of government in that nation. To put it plainly: Some government ruler will dictate to you what you will work at, when you will go to work, what you will do at work, when you will go home, and what you will be paid. Simply stated: This is dictatorship; and it takes away almost all the liberty you have to choose anything about your life. In a socialist state, you ARE A SLAVE TO GOVERNMENT!!
Socialism operates off satan’s idea that some people are above others in the right to rule. Aristotle described this “elitist” philosophy very well. He stated,
“…from the hour of their birth, some are marked out for subjection, others for rule.”

This idea flies in the face of the Biblical revelation in Genesis 1:26, where God described His creation of man. He said,
“And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion…over all the earth…”
It was from this Biblical understanding—that God created all men with equal value—that America’s Founders wrote in the Declaration of Independence:
“All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights…”
Because socialism is based on satanic principles, which (of course) disagree with the Bible, it is doomed to failure. Only what is based on the Word of God can last. This is no less true of civil government than it is of the personal or family life. The only institutions that can last in this world are those based on the unchanging principles of the Word of God! The Bible says, “Forever, O LORD, Thy Word is settled in heaven.” (Psalms 119:89) Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
After Moses had told the Jews how to live, including how to establish their civil government, he admonished them:
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy [children] may live:” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Will we choose life, protected by a Biblical Republic; or death brought by a socialistic government? You decide.
Think about it; because if you don’t, someone else will do your thinking for you—and for your children! And you won’t like what that brings to you. I’m Don Pinson; this has been Think About It.
