Pastor Rob McCoy and his church, God Speaks Calvary Chapel in California, won a court case against the Ventura County government in California. They had been threatened with fines and jail time if they didn’t comply with “shut down” measures which government servants tried to force on them. The civil authorities tried to blame the virus as their reason for demanding it. The church argued that this was a violation of their religious liberty. And the church won! Whether or not the court agreed with the church, Pastor Rob and his folks were the ones who were right, because they were doing what the Bible teaches about “assembling ourselves together” (from Hebrews 10:25) so there can be the close contact with other believers whereby the life of Christ in one believer flows to the life of Christ in another believer and that LIFE ministers to both believers—and those who are around them.

Pastor McCoy understands something that few Pastors in America have understood in recent times:  That is, Communists and other “elitist” groups jumped on this medical scare in order to grab government power away from the people’s Representatives, and place it into the hands of a Governor or a Mayor, in order to bypass the “liberty safeguard” of Legislative debate. Pastor McCoy is urging Pastors in America to take off the masks and open up their churches in order to not give into this Communist push to take over our nation. His church has grown 400% in the last year as Godly people have looked for a place where they can gather with God’s people to worship and gain the courage they need to face the hostile crowd trying to stamp out Christianity in America. Even Jewish people have come because they realize this Pastor is standing against the socialism which produced the murdering of six million of their ancestors in the last century. And at least two of them have turned to Christ as Lord and Savior!

Remember the Bible says,

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6)

It was Pastors who led in the birthing of our nation! They taught God’s people Biblical principles of education, civil government, and business; so that this new nation could be built on a solid, enduring foundation. Your liberty and mine, which has given to us the freest, most prosperous nation on earth, has been handed down to us from those Biblically-based beginnings.

• John Robinson (the Pilgrims’ Pastor) shaped the Mayflower Compact in 1620, which could be called America’s first Constitution.
• Roger Williams, a minister, founded the state of Rhode Island in 1636.
• Pastor Thomas Hooker founded, out of his church congregation, the state of Connecticut in 1639.

God help us, as church leaders, to be like our Founding Fathers in America, instead of being like most of the Pastors in Germany in the 1930s when the Nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler, was rising to power. Most of them believed Hitler’s lies and refused to speak out against the growing control of the Nazi regime. One of those Pastors, Martin Niemoeller, would later admit the devastating results of their cowardly submission when he stated:

“In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.”

Pastor, church teacher, I plead with you, in the Name of Jesus: SPEAK UP! Don’t be SILENCED FOREVER!
