In 1800, Supreme Court Justice William Paterson, reminded his fellow Justices on the Court of the words of Proverbs 29:2, which state:

“When the righteous rule, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.”

In Kentucky we are about to choose people to rule over us—and our children.  Very important offices will be decided this election day.  We’ll choose a Governor and, nearly as important, an Attorney General, among others.  We need Godly wisdom to know, and Godly boldness to do, in the voting booth, what is right by God’s standard—regardless of our party, or pressure from family or friends.  We need Godly boldness to vote Biblical moral convictions, regardless of what socialists in the media are trying to influence us to do.

The Bible calls us to vote for candidates who will “stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free.”  It tells us to:

“Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.” (Deuteronomy 1:13)

Samuel Adams, the Father of the American Revolution, summed up why our voting was so very important when he stated:

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual…but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.”

Standing for Truth in the Voting Booth 2Where a candidate stands on moral issues like abortion and homosexuality is much more important than any promise he gives about helping people’s income.  And the only real way to know how he thinks is to look at what his actions have been on proposed laws which would preserve Biblically-based morality.  Laws like the Ultrasound Law and Kentucky’s Marriage Amendment.  Both Greg Stumbo and Andy Beshear worked against those laws; while Governor Bevin has signed into law the Ultrasound Bill.  Likewise, Governor Bevin freed school officials from Mr. Obama’s executive order that our schools had to let boys and girls share the same bathroom.  With this order, Governor Bevin has backed up with his actions the protection of the right of religious liberty.  Remember, what a politician says his religious beliefs are means nothing.  Only his actions tell us his real beliefs.  And we’ve never had a Kentucky election so clear-cut when the candidates are judged by their actions in government!

One candidate for Governor supports abortion, homosexuality, and casino gambling; the other has stood against and worked to stop these things.  You can tell which candidate is the favorite of homosexuals and abortionists by the support he gets from those groups.  And those groups never have a good word for Governor Matt Bevin.

The Bible tells us the kind of candidate we should vote for.  It says in Exodus 18:21:

“…thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers…”

You see, based on the candidates’ actions in government, the choice is not difficult.  The real question is:  Do we have the courage to stand against what is evil and to stand for what is right.  If you do, you’ll prove it by going to the polls and voting for the candidates who stand nearest to the Bible position on issues.

Think about it; because if you don’t, someone else will do your thinking for you—and for your children!  And you won’t like what that brings to you.  I’m Don Pinson; this has been Think About It.
