Once again, mass shootings have brought on the call for more gun control; as if the gun was inherently evil.  By the way, wonder why we don’t hear from the media the many, well-documented, instances where a gun was used to stop an attacker?  Anyway, this time the solution put forth are the so-called, “Red Flag” laws.  These laws would supposedly identify a mentally unbalanced person before they committed the hideous act of a mass shooting.  It sounds good.  But like so many other idealistic ideas put forth by the socialists, it simply cannot work in a fallen world.  Man’s selfish nature, what the Bible calls sin, just won’t—indeed it cannot—work perfect solutions to problems.

Questions like, who is going to determine just who is mentally unbalanced?  What process will be used to separate him from his gun?  What treatment will be applied to cure him of his insanity?  These are just a few of the unanswered questions swirling around this emotional search for how to stop mass shootings.

But let’s look beneath the emotional surface at WHY these “Red Flag” laws are being proposed.  The truth is, in the natural realm, Red Flag laws would be a great tool aiding the socialists in overthrowing our Republic.  But in the spirit realm, they are satan’s tool for destroying the church by locking away church leaders by accusing them of insanity.  Thus, satan’s constant effort to keep the Gospel from flowing to the next generation would be helped immensely.

Now that the socialists’ plan to replace this American Republic with a socialist government is so out in the open, the reason for “Red Flag” laws is obvious.  Red Flag laws would turn many of your neighbors into informants for the growing socialist regime.  Similar to Nazi Germany or Communist Russia in the 1900s, if your neighbor knows you own a gun, and saw you get mad at you dog or your car, they could report you to the police as being an unstable person, unfit to own a gun.  The police would then confiscate your gun, and/or arrest you; and then you would have to prove your stability.  So what’s to keep an atheistic, socialist neighbor from reporting you just because you’re a Christian; maybe they hear you praying to someone you can’t see, and know that you own a gun.  As a socialist, by disarming the population, they’re doing their part to help bring about the “Marxist revolution” without resistance.  As an atheist their helping to stamp out what they consider to be the “myth” of God’s existence.  You see, the “Red Flag” laws fit their agenda perfectly.  This is why the Biblical wisdom of America’s Founding Fathers led them to write in the Constitution that:

“…the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

(U.S. Constitution; Second Amendment)

In 2nd Corinthians 2:11, the Bible teaches that we are not to be ignorant of satan’s devises. It also tells us to:

“Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…” (Galatians 5:1)

Some would say that Christians are to be so peaceable so as to refuse to own a gun.  You won’t find that teaching in the Bible.  On the night Jesus was arrested, He told his disciples, “…he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” (Luke 22:36)  When they told him that they had two swords, He said, “It is enough.” (Luke 22:38)  The plain indication is that they carried these swords all the time.  If Jesus was against using weapons to defend ourselves, would He not have told His followers they were wrong for having these swords?

Will we be silent on “Red Flag” laws—as we were silent on “hate crimes” laws in 2009?
