Americans are angry about Obama’s edict for boys and girls to share common bathrooms, and they should be angry!  A number of Governors have urged their school districts to ignore Obama’s command, and Governors should be doing that!  Rev. Franklin Graham stated he hoped “school districts across this nation will defy President Obama and his administration’s radical, progressive agenda to promote and advance the sin of homosexuality…” (http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/president-obama-transgender-bathroom public schools/2916/05/13/id/728773)  (By the way, “progressive” is now the word used in place of “communism”.  New name—same murderous Fixing Obamas Bathroom Mess1philosophy!)  In Texas, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick said the Lone Star State was prepared to forfeit billions in federal aid rather than let the Obama administration dictate restroom policy for its 5.2 million students (Breaking News at Newsmax.com 2016/05/13).

But remember:  As the church goes, so goes the nation.  We get the kind of elected leaders which reflect the thinking of the majority of the population.  It is as Abraham Lincoln stated:

“The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”

(Lincoln, Abraham. Attributed. Herald Star, Steubenville, Ohio, 1984. Stephen K. McDowell and Mark A. Beliles, America’s Providential History [Charlottesville, VA: Providence Press, 1988], p. 79)

We get the fruit of our own thinking.  God says in Proverbs 1:30-31,

“They would [have] none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.  Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.”

Some Americans agree with Obama’s Marxist philosophy.  But most are getting what they deserve because they do not care enough to inform themselves of what the Bible teaches about government.  Therefore, by default, we give over the control of our lives to people who hate God and His Word.  We are reaping what we have sown.  Because we’ve taken away the Ten Commandments we now can’t determine if it is wrong for a man to be in a women’s restroom.  Even worse, our national government is forcing our children to bear the brunt of that error.  Evangelicals have contributed to this by teaching that we cannot walk consistently with Jesus in this world, and, thus, have failed to tell people that there is a standard and that the power of the Holy Spirit can help them live out that standard.  We have also furthered our own destruction by teaching that Christians should not be involved in government.

Dr. Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King’s niece, nailed it when she stated,

“We don’t need pugnacious self-piety, self-righteous finger pointing and judgmental sermonizing; we need repentance and genuine pleas for God’s mercy and grace for all of America. And we need good legal strategies.”

(Black Robed Regiment, 1/12/16)

Fixing Obamas Bathroom Mess2So how do we change this?

Number one:  Christians must become aggressively evangelistic in getting the message of the “lost-ness” of man and the “saving-ness” of Christ to all in our nation.

Number two:  We must disciple with Biblical standards those we lead to Christ.  No longer can we let the school and the media tell us what is right or wrong.  We must return to the Bible as our standard.

Number three:  We must include in that discipling process the teaching of the Bible concerning the purpose, structure, and spirit of civil government.  Only this will gain back from AWOL status the majority of true believers who have not been praying for, voting in, or teaching Biblical civil government to their children.

And for those who have children in the government school system, here are three immediate things you can do:  (1) Remove the schools from national tax dollars.  Cut out whatever sports program we have to in order to make up the 10% funding put into the schools by the national government.  Or better (2) enroll your child in a Christian School.  Or even better (3) homeschool your child.

To change the fruit, we must change the root.

Think about it; because if you don’t, someone else will do your thinking for you—and for your children!  And you won’t like what that brings to you.  I’m Don Pinson; this has been Think About It.
