On September 11th, 2001, President Bush told us that the Moslems are a peace-loving people.  He was probably trying to prevent a backlash against the Moslems in this country, some of whom, no doubt, were not for the destruction of 3000 lives by our An Enemy We Dare Not Ignoreterrorist attackers.  However, in stating that Moslems were a peace-loving people, he started a misunderstanding that could well be the undoing of this nation.

To state that Muslims are peace-loving is to leave the impression that Islam is “sort of” like Christianity.  Christianity teaches us that we are not to try to force the will of others and insist that they believe as we do.  Islam is completely opposite to this.  The Koran, the Muslim “holy book”, states plainly that if unbelievers in Allah, their god, refuse to convert to Islam, they are to be killed.  This means Christians, Jews, Hindus, or anyone else of a different faith, have no right to live on this earth unless they are willing to convert to Islam.  Thus, we must expose what Islam really is- for you cannot defeat an enemy you’ve not identified.

I am not saying that we should start killing Moslems just because they are Moslems.  That would be doing to our enemies exactly what they are doing to us.  We are to “love our enemies” as Jesus said.  But loving them does not mean that we are not also “wise as serpents” toward them.  We cannot ignore their object and expect to gain victory.  We must fight the spread of Moslem ideas by correctly identifying how they think.  We must fight their efforts to destroy our liberty by fighting with the truth.  That is, we teach what the Bible says about the danger of false religion, and we teach what it says about using physical force against those who would steal our right to teach that truth- whether they be enemies within or enemies without.  We cannot compromise with fanatical people (demon-possessed with a religious spirit) who are bent on destroying our right to take the Gospel to our children.  The Apostle Paul, warned us of false teaching when He stated,

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you…let him be accursed.”

(Galatians 1: 8-9)

The disordered thinking of Moslems is evidenced by the gruesome beheadings and crucifixions which the ISIS group has done recently in Iraq and Syria:  Simply because people would not convert to Islam.  Americans used to understand that this way of thinking would destroy our liberty if we didn’t call it what it was.  When the very same thing had happened in Turkey in 1896, President Grover Cleveland stated:

“…we have been afflicted by continued…reports of the…bloody butchery of men, women, and children, made martyrs to…their Christian faith.

“ …it seems hardly possible that the earnest demand of good people throughout the Christian world for its corrective treatment will remain unanswered.”

(Cleveland, (Stephen) Grover. December 7, 1896, in his Fourth Annual Message, written to Congress from his Executive Mansion in Washington, D.C. James D. Richardson (U.S. Representative from Tennessee), ed., A Compilation of the Messages and Papers of the Presidents 1789-1897, 10 vols. (Washington, D.C.: U.S. Government Printing Office, published by Authority of Congress, 1897, 1899; Washington, D.C.: Bureau of National Literature and Art, 1789-1902, 11 vols., 1907, 1910), Vol. IX, pp. 715-716.)

Lest you think I’m saying Moslems should not be allowed to practice the “peaceful parts” of their religion here, let me state it plainly:  We believe in religious liberty!  But when religion becomes a means of subverting the very liberty that allows you to freely choose your religion it steals the right of others to practice their religion.  To ignore the violent aspect of Islam is to invite disaster!

Will your children live under a fanatical dictator like the leader of ISIS?  That depends on what you do right now to protect their liberty!

Think about it; because if you don’t, someone else will do your thinking for you—and for your children!  And you won’t like what that brings to you.  I’m Don Pinson; this has been Think About It.
